林舍的初衷是为了另一种体验丽江的方式。位于北门坡南峦，坐拥古城全景和云山天际，与纳西乡民为邻，与竹林流水为友。步行10分钟又可到达古城，围坐火塘喝酒吃肉。居于林舍，丽江的美，可远观，可亵玩。从灯火阑珊到门庭若市再到星汉灿烂，丽江全天守候，诗与远方、炊烟与平淡，尽收眼前。“行到烂漫处,坐看云起时。偶然值林舍,谈笑无还期。”
因此，林舍的设计只想把本真和舒适还给来客，不予过多修饰和限制。在原有的70年代二层民居院落基础上，重新分割空间组织交通，没有一味追求房间数量，而是形成两个互不干扰的院子。室内外一体的粉白墙面、深木地板和最大程度的落地玻璃，手法上做减法，让建筑只是连接人与自然的介质，不抢环境的风头。选择本地特色材料，淘来的老瓦，经土法粘合留下自然碱印。纳西族木工师傅修复的大木作和家具，展现不拘一格的乡土传统营造技艺；软装上，艺术家根据当地风土人情定制的画作和“瓦猫”、生活气息浓重的手工陶器铁器、山上采来的枯枝野花，经过搭配布置，以含蓄的灯光渲染，带来淡淡平和与禅意；庭院景观方面，原本拙钝的毛石，经过不同颜色的分层堆砌，形成别有匠心的院墙。石墙间的锈板门是个“惊喜”，当暗门打开，两个院子恢复成一个整体，为更多不同的使用群体和行为活动增加可能性。院内翠竹掩映、方塘流水，与北门坡、古城、远山的大环境相得益彰。
功能上为了满足“乡奢”的定位，仅有的两个套院配备了全景套房、私人起居室、自助厨房、水疗室、艺术工作室。客人可以穿着睡衣在自家庭院里晒太阳、看星星；可以跟随人流去往附近的菜市场，采购新鲜的山蘑和土鸡，回来自己烹饪；可以在敞亮的工作室、温润的水疗室、优美的观景平台上，找个舒服的姿势，读书或者放空。整个身心可以放松下来，洗尽铅华，回归本真。
This work is located in the hillside of northern DaYan heritage city in LiJiang. basing on the second flood folk house which has built in 1970s, we separate and organize the space overall, which forms two relatively independent yards.
Though the way of subtraction, we use walls printing with pale pink in outdoor and indoor, dark wood floor and floor-to ceiling window to merely make the building a bridge connecting human and nature, in order to have a great effect on the environment. The local tiles retain natural texture by traditional workmanship. carpenter who comes from the Naxi nationality has restored the carpentry work and furniture, whose handicraft was uncontrolled, agrestic and traditional. The hotel brings us a peace and buddhist mood atmosphere with putting the printing fulfilling local conditions and customs, handmade pottery in daily life, dried flower on the mountain and lighting may be seen indistinctly. Though original ashler in different colors heap layer by layer, the yard walls become more delicacy. Two yards are integrated together, which provides more possibility for motivation and different communities when we open the rusty door among the stony wall. In this hotel, there are full of scenery and river, which is a better way to reflect the beauty of Bei Menpo, heritage city and distant mountain.
